Jon Courson At Fresh Life
This weekend, Pastor Jon Courson will be speaking at fresh life church. He is a seriously rad guy and I am stoked that he is going to come and teach at our church. He started a Bible study in southern Oregon with a group of twenty people in 1977. The Lord moved in amazing ways and it grew into the 8,000+ Applegate Christian Fellowship that he now co-pastors with his son, Ben. Their campus is beautiful and in the summer they meet in an outdoor amphitheater.
I have been listening to Jon teach the Bible since I was in kindergarten. No joke. His radio program, Searchlight, was on during the half hour before I had to be at elementary school in Colorado and my dad would always have it on in the car. Jon has such a distinct voice (and a rich booming laugh) that I can’t think of driving to school without hearing the old “Thy Word is a lamp…” theme-song and his voice in my head. (If you have heard the old song you know what I am talking about!)
Jon has written many books, commentaries, and devotionals that are awesome resources. I especially have been blessed by his through the Bible mp3 set which includes him teaching on every verse, from Genesis to Revelation, and I have given it a serious workout over the years. I love his simple, Jesus-focused teaching style and if you haven’t been exposed to his teaching yet, I know you will too. We too have listened to Jon for years. You are so blessed to of been exposed to all of these great teachers all your life. That’s probably part of the reason you are such a gifted teacher of God’s Word. You are soooooo gifted and we praise our Heavenly Father for it. When you speak… we listen and the Holy Spirit always has something to say to us. We will look forward to the future when you have your own commentary! We are going to try and catch the Sat. night service. God bless you wherever you will be. P.S. We put our house on the market today…so we will see what God has for our future!

Wish we could be in Montana to hear Jon this weekend, but we got to enjoy your church last month while vacationing. We are in Southern California, so we had the wonderful opportunity to sit under his teaching for a few years at Calvary Costa Mesa as part of the “Tuesday night family”. For us, the morning isn’t the same without Jon’s teaching either, his rich love for the Lord is contagious, his laugh as well. Levi looking forward to possibly seeing you at the Crusade this weekend.
