I wouldn’t think the upgrades will affect preaching all that much–they will probably add camera’s and bigger hard drive. probably the biggest thing that will be cool is the addition of the retina display. which actually might be a compelling reason to hold out, as the screen will be much clearer. If you’ve lasted this long and think you will regret it you might want to return it. the announcement of a new one is inevitable.

Levi. Today I got the iPad 64gb. Do you think I should return it and wait for the ipad2. Will the first generation be useless. Will the ipad2 be better for preaching or do you think there’s not much difference.

Hi Levi – I’m thinking of using the iPad for preaching as well. Are you still using yours for preaching? Do you have any new insights – delights or concerns. I’m sure I’ll have to make a few practice runs before I use it. I wouldn’t want to become a distraction by fumbling around with it. Thanks – and keep up the great work you’re doing.

Hey man thanks for the info. I used my new one Sunday and I wished that I had followed your instructions because I almost panicked when the screen went blank. I had my wife drive me in because I had some finishing touches to do. It was then that realized my bible was online and I had to download the versions I wanted to use offline.

All in all though I love this thing! Please keep the info. Coming. By the way my church family gave it to me for a birthday /anniversary gift. I guess it pays to have one of our guiding principles be to use the latest tech. to further the kingdom huh. Keep moving forward!

Thanks… I took my iPad on a spin in the pulpit today. I used Pages to view and read my manuscript. Downloaded Good Reader and will experiment more to perfect the process. Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions!

I use my iPad for preaching and study. Does Goodreader back up your notes at all? I need something that will back up my notes and being able to edit them if I get a new though would be great. What do you guys recommend?

It is a great tool! I used it last Sunday and it worked great! My church found out I wanted one and they all pitched in and bought me Apple gift cards for my birthday on July 31 : o )
