Since the record released yesterday it has been amazing (and even surprising) to watch it take off and climb charts! We are blown away and thanking God for the chance to release these songs that are all about Jesus. Here is a little update and info on how you can get a single off the album for free!
Our very first music project is available for download right now! To celebrate it’s release God decided to dump a foot of snow on the state of Montana. Get your copy now on iTunes,
Hard copies are still available at skullchurch.com. Also on our website you can also get one of the tracks, “Out of the dark” for immediate download if you will tweet about the record.
This is a huge weekend for us as a church! First of all are we releasing our very first album tomorrow. It’s a music project from Skull Church called When Darkness Shakes that will hit iTunes, Google Play, Amazon first thing tomorrow. Hard copies are available at skullchurch.com as well. To celebrate it’s release we did a 2 part radio special that airs today and tomorrow on fresh life audio, our radio show. The archive is available on the podcast here, it goes into the back story on the songs and you get to hear a sneak peak of a lot of the album. We are praying and believing God is going to use these songs as we they go out.
Tomorrow is also the first night of Skull Church Bozeman! For the next two nights we have taken over the Emerson Theater in the downtown of this amazing city for an evangelistic outreach. In addition to our own house band we will also be joined by Hawk Nelson on Friday and Leeland on night. We are working with many local churches in the area and are praying that many people come to know the Lord as the gospel goes out. Both of these two events will be webcast live at at 7pm MST. Pray about who you can invite to watch online with you and use it as an outreach wherever you are. And either way if you would help spread the word on the internetz once the stream goes live that would be amazing.
If all that weren’t enough…Sunday is also the one year anniversary of our Billings campus. And since Billings is two hours away from Bozeman, in the early morning hours after the final night of Skull Church we will be making that trip for a very special Sunday Morning worship experience at 10am at the Billings West high school. And we are bringing Leeland with us!
Like I said, it’s a huge weekend for us. Needless to say, this is all in addition to all the worship experiences that will be happening in Whitefish and Kalispell, so there will be outreach literally happening all across the state and beyond….So can I ask you to stop and pray for Montana? That God would pour out His Sprit and move in power so that those stranded in sin would find life and liberty in Jesus Christ! Thanks in advance for partnering with us in this way and make sure and buy the Skull Church record tomorrow, or better yet buy ten and give them out for Christmas!
On November 9th we are so excited to release When Darkness Shakes, our very first full length record! We have been working on this project for a long time and it has been an exciting journey. All ten songs on the record have been born in the midst of this movement; they are songs we sing at skull church events and in our worship experiences at fresh life and we have seen God use them powerfully. I can honestly say I am thrilled beyond measure to share them with the world, if nothing else just because of how much they elevate my heart and get my blood pumping for eternity. The song “Someday” (my personal favorite) is one of the most invigorating songs ever. Here is a sneakpeak of the album cover.
We timed the release of the record to coincide with skull church Bozeman, the final event of the year. Physical copies will be available for purchase at that event, all fresh life campuses and for sale at skullchurch.com. It’ll also be available for purchase digitally on iTunes, Amazon, Google play and where ever else online music is sold, probably even the sketchy russian ones. We are also doing a two day radio special on my show, Fresh Life Audio, where you will be able to hear a little bit of the songs as well as Kevin and I giving the backstory on the story behind the songs, and why the songs are ordered the way they are. Listen for that program on November 8th and 9th. I can’t wait for you to hear it!
We are gearing up to hit the road again and this time both Hawk Nelson and Leeland will be joining us! This November we are super excited to bring Skull Church to the Emerson Theater in Bozeman, Montana. Please join with us in praying that many would come to know Christ through this weekend that is quickly approaching! For all the details, promo video, and digital invites click the picture below.
“Shout it, go on and scream it from the mountains, Go on and tell it to the masses That He is God”
We closed out the evening with these words reverberating through the room as The Digital Age (or as you might know them, the former members of the David Crowder Band) led us in worship, praising God for all those we had just seen commit their lives to Christ. It was an extraordinary night. The first official chilly day of fall, lives changed. Insanely great music. My heart has never been fuller nor my desire to go and scream it from the mountains greater. Thank you God that I get to be a part of what you are doing through Skull Church!
Here is the lookbook from last night’s event to give you a glimpse of what we experienced:
This is it! the final skull church event taking place in Northwest Montana in 2012. In November we are heading out to Bozeman, for the first time, for a two-night event and that will be the end of an amazing year of watching God work through this ministry. We are praying and believing for a powerful event tonight. I will be giving a message from the book of Luke and the guys in the band that we have coming in have played all over the world and have even been nominated for a Grammy! They are seriously killer.
Please join us online at 7pm Mountain time at skullchurch.com and spread the word!
It never gets old to see people come to Christ. We saw exactly that last night at a skull church event in downtown Kalispell. God has been really been putting some other cities on my heart that I’d like to bring skull church to but it is always special to see God move through it right here where it all started, in the Flathead Valley.
The skull church band detonated spiritual c4 in the room and house of heroes rocked. I spoke on a passage i had never preached on before, the parable of the prodigal sons. It was a very special night.
Here is the lookbook:
We have a skull church event tomorrow in downtown Kalispell and we will be joined by House of Heroes. We had them out two years ago for Fresh Life Easter at the Majestic and I am stoked to hear music from their latest album, “Cold Hard Want.” They are great guys and it will be great to have them at skull church for the first time.
I am going to be giving a message on the parable of the prodigal son from Luke 15 and am so fired up to see what God will do through the night. Please pray, invite people to come or tune in and don’t forget to post about the event on Instagram or twitter as the webcast starts. You never know what God might do through such a simple thing as a tweet! We had someone five their life to Christ at skull church Billings when they saw #skullchurch trending and ended up streaming it live!!
it all starts at 7pm MST
For the record I just want to say that I am so thankful that I get to be a part of what God is doing in hearts and lives through skull church. It is always an enormous rush and a gift to get to experience the energy and anticipation and then watch as people respond to the message of what Jesus did for them at Golgotha. Amazing. I have had last night in particular circled on my calendar for a while because we were joined by one of my favorite bands, a group called Paper Route. If you haven’t been exposed to their music stop depriving yourself. They are super talented.
