Brass Tacks and Life Hacks #002
1. Living a low-carb life isn’t always easy. It helps to always have an approved snack nearby. I love these, especially the ginger snap ones. A man cannot live by Quest Cookies alone.
2. When we interviewed Taya from Hillsong United, she told us she enjoyed listening to instrumental worship while having her quiet time. Since then, I’ve become obsessed with worship songs that don’t have words that I can study to, or work to, without allocating brain power to processing lyrics. This album is my favorite one. I absolutely love it, and I am pressuring Fresh Life Worship to do an instrumental record of all of our best songs.
3. There are very few things in this world more satisfying than the eradication of a squeak. For several months, our foosball table had been squeaking whenever we played, and I kept feeling like little pieces of my soul were escaping every single time. This stuff came to the rescue. And the squeak is gone. And I rejoiced. In the off-chance that you are a kindred spirit, I pray this comes as welcome relief to you.
4. This is one of the most enjoyable books I read this year. I am a big fan of Andy Weir (who doesn't love The Martian?) This might be my favorite book he's written. In my opinion, Weir's character development is second to none, especially when the protagonist is by himself for so much of the story (as seems to be his style.) Buyer beware: there is definitely some salty language to get past at points, so keep that in mind if that would be a turn off, but I enjoyed the ride. I'm sure the inevitable movie will a fabulous letdown but one that I will absolutely watch.
