Brass Tacks and Life Hacks #003

1. These are as easy as a Starbucks Via but about 1000x better. This is my go-to for backcountry coffee. Pair it with a Jetboil and you can have a pour-over made with single-origin coffee without ever getting out of your sleeping bag.

2. My daughters have been devouring these books. I love that they're learning to celebrate heroes of the faith like Hudson Taylor and Corrie Ten Boom. I don't want to turn into that anti-TikTok dad, begrudging "kids these days," but if I have the chance to put someone in front of them who should be famous, I want to do that. These books are a great resource for kids, families, or if you don't know about these amazing humans, it could be a great option for you, too!

3. I am really picky about pillows. This camping pillow is a Goldilocks in that it sits right at the sweet spot of being small enough to pack but substantial enough to still get a good night's sleep in the wild.

4. I was given one of these amazingly futuristic headlamps for my birthday. For the last decade, I have used the same cheap one I think I bought at Walgreens; and while I would probably not have ever splurged on this Tesla of headlamps, having used it a few times already this summer it is quite the upgrade. (It's a bonus that I feel like Robocop wearing it, and as a child of the 80's you don't get cooler than that.)
